Preserving Your Main Animals Once And For All

By Cecelia Avon

Unfortunately animal cruelty is something that happens in every state, and usually in every city. Whether consciously or unconsciously, people are abusing animals everywhere. But there's plenty that you can do to make sure that their abuse is stopped and that they can be rescued, according to SPCAI.

You have to recognize what could be dangerous for your pet, before putting them in a situation that could be considered cruel. For example, traveling with your dog on a hot day can be pretty dangerous.

While it may not seem like your vehicle can get too hot when you're just going to have them out there for a few minutes while you run into the store, it only takes a few moments for the average car to hit 100 degrees in hot weather.

Just as with humans there are many common diseases that can befall dogs and cats. And just like with people, there are vaccines to prevent them from becoming a problem with your dog. So why not take advantage right?

A big part of taking care of your dogs is having them spayed or neutered if you're not going to breed them. It's the responsible thing to do because there are already too many puppies in the US and not enough homes. That's why SPCA international is overwhelmed with animals in need of rescue services.

For example, if you buy your dog at a pet store, you're actually doing the wrong thing. No matter what they say, more often than not this is supporting puppy mills.

But if your dog does have to be outside all the time, you've also got to give them shelter as well. Dogs are strong, and are made to live outside if they have to. But that doesn't mean they should be given no protection from storms, heat or the cold.

You've got to have shelter for them if your dog is going to be an outdoor one more often than not. Otherwise you're just not taking proper care of them at all.
