Tips on Pet Bathing Supplies and Other Essential Items For Your Dog

By Zach Eastwood

Most of us have heard of stories in which any owner's canine friend can be free from it's leash with his or her human chum, hop around through the tall grass, and in the following day before the big meet they can go under some of the best dog cleaning equipment, and then go on to win best in their breed in the entire show. Unfortunately, that is not our reality. Even if you have an active dog and take awesome care of them, you aren't going to win a blue ribbon or bigtrophy if you don't take care of them# to make sure that they are in the best condition. Because of this, here are some pointers on how to make your dog presentable at the event for judging, from pet bathing supplies to keeping things in line.

First, you as a groomer will have to perform the difficult task of picking and discarding every debris left in in its coat and fur. It is a hard task to do but it is important when your dog is being looked at by the show's staff. Thus, it will be highly rewarding. Any show animal that has pieces of dirty won't likely advance, let alone have a chance at Best in Show event. So keep an eye out and break out the pet washing supplies if you think it is necessary

When it comes to dog cleaning equipment, don't think you can get away with just a squeeze of shampoo, a towel, a flea comb, and some everyday nail clippers for grooming equipment. Since this is a serious show, you should need some serious dog cleaning equipment. You need things like a nail file, a soft yet firm brush, a pair of whisker clippers, fine-toothed thinning shears, and a pair of straight-bladed scissors (for long hair dogs). Some other things to purchase would be hair/fur dryer and also some grooming rakes of many sizes, the same goes for scissors.

On the day before the dog event, you should give them a good scrub. So break out your best pet bathing supplies and go at it. Like any experienced show dog owner, you should own a variety of shampoos and conditioners on hand to comply with the needs of their fur on that given day. Every piece of fur counts to the eyes of the staff, so it is best you be assured that they look their greatest.

Last thing, let's talk about flaws. Some breeds are allowed to have coat problems. Terriers and some hounds and sporting dogs, are given the okay on having "honorable wounds" and scars. However this is only acceptable to a small number. You best keep yours at their best and give them the love and attention as well as the best pet bathing supplies they should demand for.
