How To Create Velcro Dog Bandanas

By Lora Jones

Nowadays, dogs have become more fashionable and glamorous than ever. They could be more spoiled too, but regardless of which these creatures remain sweet and cuddly. Velcro dog bandanas are another example of a fashion statement and has been gaining a lot of attention to pet owners due to its unique concept.

This new add on to the bandana made it more easier and convenient for the owners to put it on as you only need to clasp it around the neck, put two both ends together and your done. Neckerchiefs are by far the best accessory as it actually makes your pet look really nice and cute without violating any of their rights or embarrassing them for that matter.

Dogs have feelings too, hence avoid letting them wear ridiculous clothes or accessories. Less is indeed better and yes, that includes your pet. A choker for example with their initials or name on it is a great accessory too, and so as neckerchiefs. Neckerchiefs are available in all sorts of color and design, these are already available in the market but one has the option to create a neckerchief on his or her own.

Some owners frown upon creating their own bandana because it may look very amateur. But this is actually where the fun begins. It may look rather weird the first time, the triangular part confusing, thread does not match with the fabric and all that, but you have to admit that these "disproportions'' can be funny and most importantly a milestone.

When you're considering to make your own neckerchief then a couple of things have to be sorted out before hand. To start with, make sure you have all the necessary materials for the project. This include cloth, scissor, needle, fabric glue, measuring tape and velcro. Owners prefer velcro it will easily break away should it hung up into something.

With that measurement on hand, trace it in a fabric and draw a bandana. There has to be two fabrics pinned together, with the print side in to make your bandana look like it was made by a professional. Use the neck measurement as a guide to the length of your bandana and and one inch to have an overlap area, and this is where you paste the velcro.

Start this project by measuring your pet's neck. That measurement will serve as the length of the bandana. When measuring the neck part add two more inches and when you trace that length on your fabric, add at least one inch on both sides. Form or shape a bandana on the fabric, just make sure that two sides of the triangle is proportionate with each other.

One can get a neckerchief for his pet without spending more than five dollars. Making your own bandana allows you to customize it, in any way you want. A reversible bandana is another option, if you wish to upgrade your skills, then making a reversible neckerchief would be a great idea. When shopping for fabrics make sure its appropriate for your pet.

Dressing up your pet is exciting and fun. Velcro dog bandanas is a great add on to your pet's wardrobe, what makes this even more better is that you can actually make you own one.
