Does the Wrong Bed Cause Back Pain?

By Eden Danielson

Do you suffer from back pain problems very often that it does not allow you to work effectively and pain free? Back pains can be a nuisance to anyone who suffers from it, the pain is so annoying that you can't do much work effectively up until you lie down in bed, you still feel back pains and can't get enough sleep. The truth is back pain is caused by many factors and one of which is the kind of bed you sleep in. The bed that one uses can worsen or cause back pain problems thus leading to sleepless nights. Lack of sleep leads to decreased energy levels for the body to function well.

Sleep is the body's way of regaining energy, an alert, active and conscious mind and without it, the body and mind cannot respond properly to any kind of activity. Insufficient sleep has been found out to be one cause of many health related conditions, in fact research and studies prove that insufficient sleep causes some of the known health conditions such as kidney problems, heart failures, high blood pressure, stress and many more.

Your bed has a lot of impact to the way that your body is positioned when you sleep, it is important that it does not put a lot of strain in your back area to prevent any back pain problems. The bed that you should choose should be ergonomically designed if you plan to prevent any back pain and injury. Many brands and types of bed offer comfort but only a few are ergonomically designed for the body to prevent back pain.

When looking for a bed you need to consider if it is ergonomically designed for the body, make sure that the mattress is not that soft and not too hard as well, do not go for mattresses that are too thick as this is not good for your back, it will only worsen back pain problems. Water beds and air beds are not that highly recommended as it puts your body in curved position as you sleep and this is not good at all.

You need also to look into the type of pillow you have. Make it a point that the pillow is not to high enough for your head to be placed in as it will only cause neck strain and problems. The pillow should have an appropriate thickness to properly support the head when one sleeps.
