Cane Corso Training Fundamentals

By Donna Edwards

Training a dog is something that requires a great deal of patience and dedication. In addition, it requires that you know what to do to get your efforts to function. Knowing several ways that the Cane Corso reacts and how to apply Cane Corso training can begin with these simple suggestions that could provide you with a great hand in your new journey.

When training your Cane Corso, keep the ambitions and expectations for him reasonable. Much like when you attempt to master something new, your canine friend is not likely to learn new tricks the first time you teach him. Different breeds and even different dogs of the same breed will have various levels of receptivity towards training. All dogs learn at their own pace and becoming disappointed with your four-legged companion usually increases the dog's confusion. Avoid punishing your furry friend for misconduct and provide rewards for good behavior rather. Dogs love treats but you may also enhance the preferred behavior with love and affection.

One tip to keep in mind when training your canine pet is that your timing and the expected timing of your dog's actions are important. This is significant because this is one learning aspect that's popular to all dogs. While different dogs need different teaching techniques, timing is a communication technique that will help you find success no matter what you try. Make Cane Corso training a part of your dog's daily regimen. Ten minutes of training each day offers much better results than an hour of training once a week. The dog has less time to forget the lessons discovered and it is easier to keep a dog's attention for a few minutes at a time. Also, the dog won't end up eating a lot of treats in a single session that hunger is no longer a good motivator to learn new commands.

When correcting negative behavior that your canine pet exhibits, always make sure that your modifications are short and well-defined. If your corrections are imprecise, your canine pet won't understand how to improve his bad behavior. This will frustrate both you and your four-legged friend. If your corrections are clear and quickly grasped, your canine is likely to make the correction.

To achieve successful Cane Corso training, you must be consistent always. Never allow your four-legged friend to partake in such pursuits as pulling you on walks or jumping all over people. Don't ever concede to your pet's really cute face. In doing so, your pooch will end up baffled and not understand what is right or wrong in that specific situation and will do what he wants.
