Do you know that dogs just absolutely love the taste of sweet peanut butter treats? It's not that difficult. Simply combine 1/2 cup of all purpose flour with 1/2 cup whole wheat flour. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup milk, 2 Tbsp honey, 2 Tbsp oil with 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter. Fold in the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. When the batter is blended well enough, take spoonfuls of this and lay it on a cookie sheet. Bake these treats in a 350 F temperature for 20 minutes or until done and you have yourself yummy peanut butter tasties.

How about some delicious oatmeal chews? Combine 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 3 cups of oatmeal and 2 Tbsps of honey. Add in 2 egg yolks and a cup of cold water, making sure the batter is smooth without any lumps in it. Bake for 15 minutes in 350 F. Cool the treats and cut into cookie sizes you can bag and feed your pet anytime.

Do you have perhaps a more mature dog with a weaker set of teeth on them? This doesn't mean they can't have tasty treats. Here is a recipe for chewy cookies perfect for these wizened fellows. Blend cup dry milk powder, cup wheat germ with 2 1/2 oz jars of baby food (chicken or beef flavored is fine). Roll out to make little balls and spread onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes.

Liver doesn't always sound like it should belong on our dinner plates but for canines; these are acceptable and great treats you can give. Chop and puree 1 lb of liver and blend this with 2 cups of cornmeal, 1 cup of flour and a dash of salt. Roll the mixture onto a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes in 350 F heat. After cooling, cut these up in small pieces and keep for reserved doggie snacking.

If you know how to bake, you can switch up some ingredients to make it interesting for your pet. Use apple, carrots, parsley or other pieces of meat. Make sure when you come up with your own dog food recipes that you research on the food that are harmful to canines. Some of these include chocolate, onion, grapes and most nuts. Too much liver is also harmful to them.
