Removing Pet Odors From Your Carpets And Furniture

By Alma Sgro

Although everyone seems to be very fond of their pets, they dislike the way that their home always emits a smell of pet odors. One solution to this dilemma would be to keep your pets as outdoor pets and not allow them to enter the house. But if you're anything like me, you would for no reason banish your dog to a life of outdoor living. So in this article we are going to explain to you how you can reduce and possibly even eliminate the pet odors in your house.

For cat lovers, inhaling litter box smells can be a regular occurrence. One thing you should do is actually to change the cat litter every few days as this can really help to reduce the smells. Although you may use cat litter that's combined with baking soda, putting in more baking soda might help to further reduce cat smells.

For those who have a lot of carpet in your home, there is a fairly easy way to get rid of pet smells. You'll need to search for a big spray bottle. So now top off the sprayer with water. Now continue to apply water all over your carpet. You want to refrain from soaking the floor converings with excessive water. After that take baking soda and as uniformly as you're able begin applying the baking soda all around the moistened carpeting.

Should you posses a carpet brush, work with it to help a carpet soak up the water and baking soda. For anyone who is unfamiliar with a carpet brush, this is merely a specially constructed brush to use on carpets. When it comes to appearance it is closer to a lawn rake than a normal brush. Many carpeting and hardware stores carry this particular brush.

As soon as your carpet is entirely dry, you should vacuum the entire area. Urine odors, however, will never be thoroughly taken out with this method. To eliminate these challenging odors, you'll need to buy a domestic pet urine odor removal product. Look for a product with enzymes in it. All these pet enzymes pretty much just take away the urine odor as a result of breaking down the urine. You can use most of these methods on furniture as well. However you'll want to read the tags on the furniture to make sure these processes won't damage the fabric. Here's one final thing to be aware of if you are cleaning furniture. If you're one of those people who invest $5,000 on a sofa, you can probably just afford to throw that one away and find a new one. Another choice could be to pay someone to clean it professionally.
