Dog Products: What Your Little Pooch Needs

By Mark Kreyman

You have just become a proud parent of a very beautiful pup. Now the next phase is to purchase the dog grooming supplies. What should you buy? Here is a list you can begin with:

Grooming Supplies

Unlike cats, pups do not have abilities to groom themselves, so they basically rely on their mommies or daddies for their needs. In other words, you must regularly bring them to the pet parlor, if not take care of the grooming yourself. What do you need if you want to do the latter? It depends on the type of dog you currently possess, but a brush is a must. You also need some shampoos, conditioners, and soaps to prevent the growth of parasites.

Food

The size of your dog usually determines the amount of food to buy. It is very important that the dog is kept well nourished. The vet is the best person to tell you about the diet and food of your dog. Nevertheless, your dog should have protein to develop good bones and improve its coat. That is why their diet is mostly meat based. Dogs can moreover be provided with treats sometimes like cookies and sticks. They are great when trying to teach pooches some tricks; if they do well, you can reward them with their favorite snacks.

Vitamins

If you are feeding your dog well, then there is a good chance he is getting the most essential vitamins and minerals from his food. That does not mean, though, supplementation is not a good idea. The vitamins you might want to give shall be according to health needs of the dogs. If he is prone to arthritis, then the vitamins and minerals may be for bone or joint health.

Medications

Like humans, dogs or other pets are in danger to certain types of illnesses, especially if they get older. They can have glaucoma, arthritis, bone disease, diabetes, and even cancer. You can hence add medications into supplies your dog needs in order to boost their quality of life.

Accessories

To ensure you can correctly take care of the pup, you can purchase other dog stuff or accessories such as harnesses, collars, cages, and tags.
