Made In USA Dog Treats For The Safety Of Your Pet

By Claudia Campos

The popularity of made in USA dog treats has grown since the tainted pet food scare. Many are choosing to only feed what is made in areas where they feel safe, hoping that quality will be more controlled and safer.

Training your pet is enhanced by using special tidbits. They are used to provide positive reinforcement. There is a danger, however, of adding too many calories if care is not taken. There are lower calorie versions, having only three calories each. Enticing the pet to follow training instructions is easy if they like the taste of the tidbit. Tricks can be taught using them.

Just as with the food regularly given to your pet, these tidbits should be made of the finest ingredients. Many brands are advertised as being all organic, or all natural. Most have whole grains. Especially if following a heavy training schedule, where they will be offered frequently, it is important to serve only quality ingredients with proven safe ingredients.

To keep your pet healthy, it is important to follow some strict calorie guidelines. For a normally active pet, the following weight and maximum calorie guidelines apply: Below 10 pounds, 400 calories; 20-40 pounds, 1000 calories; 40-80 pounds, 2000 calories; 100 pounds, 2270 calories. It doesn't take many tidbits to add to this maximum.

Other countries don't necessarily have the same standards of quality when preparing pet foods. Since you pet is like a member of the family, you want to feed them well. You should be as careful with their food as you are with your own.

Purity and safety is more probable when feeding made in USA dog treats. Contamination is more of a concern with foods prepared in other countries. You pet's health and safety is important and you should be careful what you give them to eat.
