See You Head And Neck Specialist At The First Sight Of These Symptoms

It is a good thing that the symptoms of head & neck cancer actually manifest early on. However you should never take that as an excuse to postpone your appointment with an ENT specialist or head and neck specialist. Below are some of the common symptoms that give good reason for you to see the doctor.

Blood. If blood comes out with a phlegm or saliva, you must call the attention of a head and neck specialist in order to determine the presence or absence of tumours in your lungs, throat or nose.

Hoarse. A hoarse voice is actually one of the abnormal conditions that you just cannot easily and you should not ignore. That could mean that your throat is in danger. Have it checked as soon as possible.

Lump. Are you stressed over the presence of lumps in your neck which have been there for over 2 weeks already? Know what causes them. Also, bear in mind that the lump can spread to other parts of the body. That possibility increases the longer you delay your consultation.

Mole. In case your mole is bleeding or if it's changing in size or colour, you must not waste any more time. Pay a visit to the doctor and let him or her properly address the problem.

Pain. Is it painful for you to swallow solid food or even liquid drinks? Allow the doctor check your throat and even your ears if you feel pain in that area as well, to find out the root of the problem. He or she can actually determine if a tumour or infection is the one keeping you from enjoying your meal.

Sore. Watch out for a sore on your lip, ear or face that remains as it is longer than usual. Meaning, it the sore doesn't heal, ask the doctor if it signifies something more serious.

Swell. A swelling in the mouth which lasts for a week isn't normal. You have to visit the doctor to have it examined.
