Homemade Dog Treats Your Dog Won't Be Able to Get Enough Of

By Geraldine Dimarco

Ever heard of a perfect dog? You might possibly be the proud owner of one with the right tools of the trade - mainly mouth watering homemade dog treats. These simple and effective tips on how to make absolutely delicious dog treats will leave your canine no choice but to love you more and follow your every beck and call.

Let's begin with the more savory treats shall we? If you are having chicken for dinner then it will be a perfect time to prepare your doggy's little snack items as well. Cut the chicken you can spare in little strips and spread them over a baking sheet with plenty of cheese sprinkled on top of them. Bake them in a pre-heated oven of about 110 C until it becomes crisp. Let it cool and it's ready to be served.

Boil meat organs like liver or beef heart and flavor with the seasoning of your choice. Let it simmer until it is thoroughly cooked or for about 2 hours. When done, chop these into chewable bites and store into an airtight plastic container and freeze until when you need them. Before feeding it to your dog, check if the snacks are totally thawed out to eliminate the risk of indigestion and painfully chilled teeth.

If these are not available, hotdogs are acceptable and even appreciated doggie snacks. Cut the well cooked sausages or hot dogs in slivers and microwave them until they are hard. Have these on hand for ready noshes anytime of the day. Are you one of those owners who hold the treats between your teeth? Then savory, human friendly nibbles like these will be your best friend.

Dessert treats are also not that difficult to accomplish. Combine a small jar of applesauce with 2 Tbsp honey, 2 cups of water, 1 egg and a dash of vanilla. Set aside. In another bowl, mix 4 cups of flour, 1 Tbsp of baking powder and 1 Tbsp of nutmeg powder. Fold in the first mixture into the second bowl of dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until you have yourself a smooth and creamy batter. Spoon out dollops of this batter on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour in a 350 F temperature. Be forewarned that humans and canines may fight each other for these luscious apple chews.

Feel free to add in or take out some ingredients according to your pet's taste preference. Make certain that you research before doing so. Food like chocolate, grapes, raisins, among others-- are listed as dangerous and hazardous to the animals health. Consult with your vet before giving homemade dog treats to be sure.

When you do your best to learn how to make dog treats, you are sending a message that you care and want only the best for your pet. Your pet is lucky to be under the shadow of your house and with these added treats, being happy and obedient will be second nature to him.
