Knowing About The Charities For Children

There are many charities for children that are available in the United States. Anyone who lives in any of the states are more than likely to know about all of the great things that are done for the younger generation. Organizations such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters and The Boys and Girls Club have been around for a very long time and they will continue to help young people reach their goals.

Anybody living on this planet has heard about Big Brothers and Big Sisters. This is one of the longest running clubs in America. The team leaders do their best to help young people who are in need of parental guidance. The mentors serve as surrogate mothers and fathers to kids who do not have a mom or dad in their household. This program gives the students valuable one on one sessions with unique individuals who know how to listen and give sound advice.

People who know about The Boys and Girls Club are very well informed individuals. Group activities are number one on the list when it comes to doing things. The counselors working for the program will take the students to many outdoor events which will expand their knowledge about the world. Many social skills are also taught through this program.

Neighborhood kids who spend most of their afternoons without parents around can rely on The Boys and Girls Club for parental guidance. There are many leadership activities that are done during the after school hours at this organization. The Positive Career Role Model program has become very popular for this group.

One organization that will bring tears to someones eyes is The Make A Wish Foundation. This group of people have been bringing joy into many youngsters lives since 1980. They have also provided many trips for young people with terminal diseases around the globe. Many celebrities lend their sponsorship to this program by visiting with the young people while they are in the hospital.

The Partnership Drug Free America foundation informs teenagers about the deadly results from using drugs and other harmful substances. The group will usually sponsor events which deals with drug awareness and they will arrange pep rallies for the students. These rallies have many guest speakers on hand to warn students about these very important issues.

More and more youngsters are becoming a part of The Campaign For Tobacco Free Kids program. This organization was created some years ago and they spend a great deal of their time speaking out against the tobacco industry. Sometimes they will introduce the group of students to individuals who have lost part of their anatomy due to tobacco products.

Children who were born with Down Syndrome or any other type of genetic disease may be well aware of The Special Olympics team. This is one of the charities for children that will focus on a particular group of individuals. The mentors in the program volunteer their time on a daily basis and their great work shows in every way.
