Taking the appearance of a little furry bear the toy Yorkie has become very popular over the past couple of years as an accessory dog. Easy to fit under the arm and dress in clothes and bows this little dog frequently appears in the media. The Yorkie is a popular purse dog. Originally created for digging out rats and other little furry animals, the celebrity Yorkie is a long way from his distant working cousin.

Health Problems can arise with the smaller Yorkie. The teacup terrier is bred in particular to be tiny. This is not healthy and shouldn't be inspired. When looking out for a Yorkshire terrier, ensure that you research, and meet both of its parents in their home environment.
