Their extraction came from the descendants of St. John's water dog and Newfoundland. When he learns how to follow your commands when he is at home, take him out for a walk. They tend to be curious in nature and they love to go exploring. While you are outside, teach him how to walk with you because they get so excited that they can drag you. Slightly pull his leash to make him understand that he needs to follow you.

Try not bringing his bridle along to teach him about discipline and so that you will be confident that he will not run away. This way, he will also learn how to go back to the house. Since bridles are not going to be used, command him with the use of verbal commands and body gestures.
