Artattack Bengals For Cats Of Distinction

By Marissa Potter

Artattack Bengals are breeders of some of the most beautiful cats that you can imagine. They breed Bengal cats, a breed that looks like a wildcat but with the size of a domestic cat. Having one of these cats is like having your own little leopard, but one that won't destroy the furniture that much.

This Australian cattery is owned by sisters Renate Wilson and Helena Daws. The sisters use carefully selected champion bloodlines to breed quality Bengal kittens. They focus first and foremost on breeding healthy and happy kittens with a sweet temperament.

The Bengal breed came about after careful cross-breeding of the domestic cat and a wildcat known as the Asian leopard cat. From its domestic cat ancestors the breed gets a gentle, friendly and affectionate nature. The wildcat ancestors are responsible for the breed's arresting appearance.

The cats come in three color types. These are brown, silver or a color that is called snow. However, within these three main color groups there are cats with background colors that range from brown to rust, golden or orange, or lighter colors like buff, sand and ivory. Artattack Bengals focuses on breeding cats in the brown and silver color groups.

What makes Bengal cats so special is the markings on their coat. The most common type of marking is spotted or rosettes, similar to the rosettes on a leopard's coat. This is the type of marking that most Artattack cats have and the ideal for the cattery is to breed cats with black rosettes that have a rust-colored center. A less common type of marking is what is called marbled, where the markings are more of a swirled pattern.

Being descended from wildcats, Bengal cats have a lot of energy and are extremely playful. They especially love games where they can fetch objects, as well as games that involve water. Their love of water comes from the fact that the Asian leopard cat survives by catching fish. Bengals are intelligent cats and you can even train them to walk on a leash. They are also very loyal, one of the traits that has caused them to be compared to dogs.

With these traits, Bengal cats naturally get along with dogs. They also get along with children and make good companions. However, they are talkative and demanding. If you cannot give them a lot of attention but only want a pretty cat, you may want to consider another breed instead.

As cat lovers themselves, the sisters of Artattack make sure that the cats in their care receive all the love and attention they need. The cats don't only live outside in the cattery. They also spend a lot of their time in the sisters' homes with their families, where they run around and play with their toys.

The cattery is hygienic and free of feline diseases like feline immunodeficiency virus or FIV, chlamydia, feline leukemia virus or FeLV, tritrichomonas, giardia and and coccidia. Furthermore, Artattack Bengals is registered with the New South Wales Cat Fanciers Association. This assures quality. Kittens from this cattery cost a couple of thousand dollar, but come vaccinated, treated against parasites and with micro-chip implants.
