Finding Pet Urns Grave Markers Of Various Kinds

By Casandra Newton

Burial by cremation is becoming more popular for animals these days. It is a clean and affordable way to dispose of your household animal's remains after they die. Because of the rising popularity of this method of burying, finding pet urns is easier to do now. You will be surprised to discover many different types of containers for your animal's ashes.

Typically, these containers are rectangular or squarish with matching covers on top. Nowadays, more manufacturers are designing interesting looking vessels in various sizes and contours. Even the materials they are made of are now more diverse than in the past. When you have to search for a container for the ashes and remains of your animals, you will be faced with many choices.

A common material used for vessels is wood. They can be made from mahogany, cherry and other types of high quality wood. The finish can be painted or varnished. They can also be sanded to a natural texture. Wooden containers look more classy, homey, and warmer than those made of synthetic materials. You can also have your pet's name etched on the surface.

There are containers that can also hold a figurine of your animal. Typically, this type of vessel would take the shape of a container with a flat top where a statuette can be affixed to. The ornament can be an exact replica of your animal or represent he same breed of your cat or dog. You can get the figurine at a craft store or have it specially made from resin.

Another option is to get a vessel that has a photograph of your deceased cat or dog. Choose a flattering picture from your photo albums and use that to decorate the container. You can attach the image to a vessel made of wood, metal, or marble. Have a professional do this task for you as it may be a bit difficult to infuse the image if you are untrained to do it.

If you want something long lasting, try checking out metal vessels. These types of containers can last forever. Metallic finishes like chrome or matte can also produce a contemporary look. Other metals that can be used are pewter, bronze, stainless steel, and silver. You can embellish the outer layer with any design you want or have your pet's name engraved.

A common option is a vessel made of stone such as granite, marble and onyx. Other stones that can be sanded and shaped can also be used to create a container for your animal's vessel. You can also customize the shape and size using this type of material. You can have an angular, circular or curvy receptacle.

If you are assigned with finding pet urns, check out your local provider and ask if they can also create markers for the grave or personalized memorials. These things can also be made from all kinds of materials from glass to stone. You may be able to get a discount if you get both the vessel and marker from the same source.
