9 Foods You Should Avoid Feeding Your Dog

By Corey Daker

Dogs can incur only slight abdomen problems with several of these foods. However, I will specify those that can cause significant sickness or lead to death as well.

Onions: The toxins that can build up in a dogs system can cause anemia -if the dog is eating onions on a regular bases. If the white of the dogs eyes turn yellow and/or if the dog has a tongue that is pale in color -then these are signs that the dog has extreme toxins in the system. Other key signals include: urine -dark in color, vomiting and diarrhea.

Chocolate: If a dog eats to much chocolate- the chances are that they will start having runny stools along with vomiting repeatedly. Chocolate has a compound in it called Theo- bromine-it is this compound that is so deadly to a k-nine. The human liver and Kidneys can break this chemical element down...but not a dog and chocolate will end up destroying the dogs heart and central nervous system.

Chicken and fish bones: Internal bleeding is likely to accure in the digestive track of the dog when the fish or chicken skeleton has been cooked. After the bones become more breakable from the cooking processes is when the bone carcass is the most hazardous to a dog.

Currants: Black berries or red tarts that are used for jams and jellies are also called currants. The toxins connected within these kinds of fruits have been linked with kidney damage in dogs.

Mushrooms: There are many types of mushrooms known to be very deadly to animals and dogs are no exception. The most poisonous mushroom known to affect a dog is the "death cap" specie-This type of mushroom will cause liver disease along with neurological disorders.

Yeast Dough: The stomach and intestines of a dog can not handle all the gases that are caused from yeast dough. Cooked dough (bread) is OK for a dog, as long as it's not to much-it is wise not to give your pet any more then 10% bread from their total meal intake.

Cat Food:The amount of protien that cat food is made with is much higher then dog food, so if a dog consumes too much of this in their diet they are likely to gain too much weight. Another reason to avoid cat food is the deficiency they will obtain from cat food because the supplements and vitamins that are in dog food are not in cat food.

Raw eggs:As argumentative as this food has been-there is evidence that an abumdant amount of raw eggs diminishes obsorption of biotin (vitamin B) in dogs. Salmonella is of concern as well, however a small amount of raw egges- now and again- has been known to assist a dogs hair coat.

Raisins: A looseness of the bowels and regurgitation are signs associated with dogs that has consumed an abundant amount of raisins within the last few hours. A mysterious poison will accumulate in the kidneys causing injury to the animal and medical care with intravenous liquids are advised. However minute quantities of raisins seem not to have much affect on most dogs.

There are many other foods that are under question, as far as weather dogs can or cannot eat them. A good rule of thumb-don't feed a dog an excessive amount of people food, find a nutritional dog food that they like. Feeding your dog right will help insure a long healthy life!!
