The Different Types Of Puppy Coaching

By Nathaniel Deleon

Most people aren't even aware about the differing kinds of training. The different sorts of training are based for dogs at different stages.

Some dogs had training before, while others had none. Because of this, it's best that you know which kind of training to put your dog in.

The first sort of training is "basic dog training". This type of training can be for puppies or for adult dogs that have never received any sort of instruction. This course teaches dogs to sit, stay, and come.

Basic training also emphasises socialization abilities (particularly for puppies). Good socialization skills teach your dog to get with other dogs and people.

If your dog has never had any form of lessons, then it must commence with the fundamentals. The next type is intermediate lessons. This is not for puppies. Intermediate courses are for any adult dogs who've either been through basic dog training or for dogs which have been trained the fundamentals good enough by their owner.

Intermediate courses teach dogs to heel; walk correct on a leash, fetch and return, and it also goes over the basics of training in more detail (sit, stay, come, etc.).

Advanced dog training is the last kind available. Complicated lessons are only authorized for adult dogs who've taken at least one course before and they must have passed it too.

All the basic and intermediate aspects are gone over in serious detail at the beginning. Then the course goes to teaching your dog to follow these commands with hand signals (come, stay, sit, heel, lie down, for example.)

Once the dog learns hand signals, the advance course then moves to teaching your dog to walk beside you without a leash and for the dog to remain beside you at all points. It also teaches your dog to concentrate on you and to avoid distractions.

This course is just for very well behaved dogs.

All these courses should exploit positive reinforcement (praise and rewards). They should not use any negative training systems (hitting or screaming). Make sure that you pick a dog training course that only uses positive reinforcement.

Also ensure that you choose the course that is right for your dog. With the right course, your dog can be well behaved, well adjusted, and really a joy to have!
