A Few Good Reasons Why You Might Fall In Love With A Blue Mitted Ragdoll Kitten

By Delia Albert

Though it can take time to find a good breeder who has kittens available when you wish to have one, the wait for a blue mitted ragdoll is worth it. This lovable and loving breed of cat is known for its good nature and beauty. There are some truly good reasons why you may just fall in love with one.

Ragdolls are classified by breeders based on their fur color and patterns. These cats have colored areas of fur on their faces, paws, ears, and tails. These areas are called points. They also have varied patterns with differed names. Mitted means that they have white fur on their paws that gives them the appearance of wearing gloves or mittens.

Part of their appeal is that the gray fur is a remarkable complement to their sparkling blue eyes. Not only do the colors make them attractive, but their expressive faces are easy to love. Once you see a busy kitten bustling about in playtime, you probably will not be able to resist owning one.

When you make the decision to have a ragdoll kitten become part of your family, you must prepare a place for it to eat, sleep, and plan to keep its litter box away from the areas where it will socialize and play. This breed also requires a lot of affection and attention. For all the love it gives, it needs to have much in return.

A big plus for people allergic to cats is that this kind of cat is a long hair that does not shed much. It has no under coat. This means that it will shed less and require less grooming than other long hairs that do have a second thick coat of fur underneath the longer outer layer.

Their nature is to be calm and easy going. They will quite literally flop out onto the arms of anyone who picks them up. This behavior is how they earned their name. Their relaxation is so pronounced that they look like dolls made from rags.

They are not small when fully grown. Be prepared to watch your female grow to an average of 14 pounds, and your male to perhaps 20 to even 30 pounds. Most owners feel that their size simply makes them more lovable.

Once you make the decision to own one, you should contact a reputable breeder to buy one. Blue mitted ragdolls are very special indeed, and are costly. But, their owners believe that they are the best investment they could have made in a cat. These intelligent, beautiful, and loving animals are so gentle that it is hard not to love them.
