A hamster can really be a pet that you, like so many other people, can get to enjoy very much. It is an easy to care for pet that is cute to look at, and is fun to play around with, and that is why so many people have one of these.
No need to put in a lot of effort caring for a hamster because they are really easy to take care of. They don't need much space at all and can get by on a little bit of room.
But make sure that they have enough space to move around a bit. Whether or not you get a running wheel, the hamster will still need an area to move around in.
Providing proper exercise will enhance the life of your hamster. But no matter how healthy you keep your hamster, they generally don't live for more than three years.
A Syrian hamster would rather be in a cage by itself and not share it with another hamster. They are nocturnal and don't do much during the day.
A smaller choice is the dwarf hamster which has become a favorite among hamster owners. They are often around 4 or 5 inches.
A Chinese hamster can many times be confused with a dwarf hamster but they are in fact quite different. But they also like to be alone rather than have another hamster with them.
So if you want to have a couple of hamsters you will want to go with the dwarf hamsters over the other options. If you are only interested in getting one then you can look at one of the other two.
However you want to go with the decision, you will be happy enjoying your time with one of these pets. But work out how many you want and if you want to play with them during the day before you choose.
